Things to Like in San Francisco #3
Destination Bakery, two blocks away, makes the best chocolate croissants I have ever eaten. Period. I daren't stop by there too often, for fear of vast weight gain, but...oh, my, they are good.
Life, writing, children, pedestrians, books, and the passive resistance of inanimate objects.

Do they make eclairs? I have the most incredible taste for eclairs and no good ones around here...
I'll be in Greenwich Village next week--know any good bakeries?
I think they make eclairs, but I haven't gotten past the croissants. And the sticky buns. The Breakfast of Guilt!
I know there are good bakeries in the Village, but I haven't lived in NY for three years, and dwelt on the upper west side when I did, so my data is =so= out of date. I do know that Cupcake Cafe, on 9th Avenue in the 40s, is very good...but (disclaimer) the husband's cousin runs the place...
Well you could always come eat some in person. I'm just sayin...
Probably a good thing you didn't tell us about it when we were there.

Isn't that where we went for coffee? Or did I confabulate the whole event?
We ate at your house. Did we go for coffee as well? You have me questioning reality here, Mad.

God, Derryl, I didn't mean to gaslight you. Yes, you ate here. For a moment I had a brain-blip and conflated your visit with Greg and Dan Hatch and Charlie Obendorf dropping by last year.
Next time you're in SF, though, we should absolutely hit Destination Bakery.
