Observance
Today is John Cusack's birthday. He's 39. In the "cast the movie of your book" game (which I play, despite being fairly certain that there will never be a movie of one of my books) he has for a long time been my choice to play John Tietjen in The Stone War. Wherever you are, John, pick up a copy of the book, then give me a call.

He'd be perfect!
Joanne Woodward, if she were only twenty years younger, is McGrath. And I think I wanted Angela Bassett to be Ketch, and Lukas Haas (at 14) to be Jit. None of these occurred to me until after the book was in print, of course, but they work.
Happy birthday John Cusack! And from what I've read in Stone War (which isn't a lot, but some), yeah, he would be perfect.
