Space Geek is Happy

We got YG out of bed a hair early this morning to watch the shuttle launch. She, all nine years old, was impressed by the camera work (as was I--this time they had a camera mounted on the booster rocket itself, so that you could see the solid fuel rockets peel off and, later, the shuttle take to solo flight) and managed a "cooool" at the actual launch. But space flight has been a given for her entire life. I'm old enough to remember sitting through most of the Gemini and Apollo launches with a sense of awe and pleasure. Every time we go back into space, I am nine years old again and filled to the brim with Wow...
